JV Ends Season With Huge District Win

| 11/4/2021

The Brazoswood Bucs JV teams faced Clear Falls Thursday night. Unfortunately, the Silver team was unable to play due to lightning. The Blue team was able to play after a short delay, facing the cold and rainy weather all game long. After going down to an early 6 point deficit, the team was able to respond. After a long pass thrown from Quarterback Westin Lummus to Wide Receiver Austin Crainer that got the bucs offense down to the 1 yard line, QB Lummus was able to sneak the ball into the endzone. Running Back Sherman Wade was asked to carry the ball often because of the weather and did a great job grinding out yards. Wide Receiver Trent Waterbury had himself a huge night making several big plays, offensively he scored on a throw from QB Lummus. Waterbury also made some big plays on defense at Defensive Back, breaking up several passes and also making an interception that he took back for a touchdown. Waterbury was also a big contributor on special teams.

Kicker Sam Garcia has been reliable all season long, tonight he made 3 extra points that were made even more difficult because of the weather. He also did a great job placing the ball in good spots on his kickoffs as well.

Defensively, Mason Folker & Jayden Malone played an outstanding game on the Defensive Line. They were able to shut down the Falls rushing attack and were able to get pressure on the QB all night. Linebacker Nick Closs flew around the field on defense and on special teams, coming up with several key tackles. The defense was able to hold the Clear Falls offense to only 12 points.

The final score ends in a 21-12 Buc victory, ending the JV season on a high note.
