Freshmen Blue 34- Clear Brook 18
The Bucs got off to a fast start last night. After a great 30 yard kickoff return by Miguel Nava, the Bucs offense found the endzone in 4 plays. Kelan Pullen connected with TaiShaun Johnson for a 30yd score. (Jose Trevino 2pt conversion). After a Clear Brook score and blocked extra point, The Bucs lead 8-6. The Bucs next possession got all the way down to the Clear Brook 2 but failed to score any points.
The Bucs found the endzone again beginning the 2nd QT on a 2 yard run by Kelan Pullen. (Pullen to Kozak for the 2pt. conversion) Bucs 16 - Brook 6. After another nice kickoff return by Miguel Nava, and a few penalties on Brook. The Bucs had a short field to extend their lead 22 - 12. Kelan Pullen found Jose Trevino on a screen for 20yds. After a few halftime adjustments, the Buc defense came out firing, causing 3 straight turnovers. The Bucs offense took advantage of those mistakes with 2 big runs by Jose Trevino. (11yd Touchdown run and a 35 yard touchdown run). Multiple defense players stepped up after halftime and made some huge plays. Shaydon Culture had a huge hit on the Brook QB causing the second fumble of the half. Owen Roberts and Jack Clark led the defense in tackles. Caleb Jefferson, Tucker Kozak and Jordan Gonzales each had a key pass break up to stop drives by Brook.
The bucs are back in action next week to take on Clear Springs Wednesday night at Clear Springs High School @ 7pm.
