The Brazoswood Buccaneers JV Football Team had a strong start to the 2021 season against the Sante Fe Indians. Wide Receiver Trent Waterbury took the opening kickoff return 80 yards for a touchdown. The next possession Running Back Sherman Wade put together several hard runs with great blocking up front by the Offensive Line, finishing the series with a rushing touchdown. Quarterback Braxton Welch added to the scoreboard with a scrambling run for a touchdown. The defense played a great game shutting the Santa Fe offense out of the endzone for all of the first half. Defensive End Andrew Franke came up with a big sack, Defensive Back Anthony Leija played a solid game in the backend. Linebackers Nick Closs and Trenton Holland flew around the field finishing several tackles. Defensive End Jayden Malone scooped and scored on a fumble recovery for a 55 yard touchdown. The Bucs win with the final score of 27-6.
